Development of return benders for heat exchangers, air conditioning and refrigeration

Return Bender

The Return Bender (RB) is designed to make bends of 180° and straight tubes starting from coils of copper and its alloys and aluminum. We may supply return benders from 1 to 5 tracks, based on tubes diameter, thickness and material. The bending process is made using an inside mandrel and the cut of bends and tubes is provide by a saw. A simple and intuitive control panel allows the functional management of return bender, included the control of PLC functions.

Production capacity

N° 5 return bends/cycles and 14 cycles / minute up to 3/8” or 10mm tube diameter
N° 4 return bends/cycles and 13 cycles / minute up to 1/2” or 12mm tube diameter
N° 3 return bends/cycles and 12 cycles / minute up to 5/8” or 16mm tube diameter

Set-up time

Change of tooling diameter (full set up): about 30 min.
Change of tube thickness: about 5 min.
Change of bending diameter: about 10/15 min.


Decoiler

Non rotating type, single or side by side configuration. Pre-arranged for the application of kits for the use  of coils without carton flanges.

Calibrating unit

Due to the limited length of straight tubes and bends, the tubes are only calibrated by rolling wheels.


Feeding unit

The feeding of the tube is obtained through the translation of two pliers of which one is fixed and another one is mobile, by hydraulic drive that keeps the tube in position.


Cutting unit

The cutting unit uses an high speed saw installed on a moving carriage driven through an hydraulic cylinder guided by columns tempered and grinded moving on coupling boxes with re-circulating ball screws.


Bending unit

The bending unit is hydraulic drive with rack and pinion and cylinder with two adjustable piston rods.


Device for bending mandrels lubrication
During the bending phase a lubrication device ensures the correct amount and distribution of the oil inside the bends. The lubrication is automatic and independent for each track.


Temporized distributor of grease 
A centralized and temporized distributor of grease lubricates each mechanical part subjected to friction under operation.


Mechanical and electrostatic filter for residues and smokes (upon request)

An extractor sucks the smokes and residues through mechanical pre-filters, while the smallest particles are retained by an electrostatic filter. This device is mandatory for installation within EU Countries.


Collection unit 
An inclined plan conveys the bends or straight tubes on a collection container. 


Control Panel

The control panel allows the programming and the control of the machine's functionalities. A clear set of symbols makes easier the use of the machine for the operator; in the manuals supplied with the machine there are cases of malfunction that can be verified, together with an accurate description about their troubleshooting.


Safety
The return bender is equipped with a safety guard; the opening of the guard places under safety conditions the machine.
