The horizontal axis coil benders (CB) have been designed to bend finned coils with single or multiple bends in manual, semi-automatic or automatic cycle. The range includes several variants due to the size and the type of bends required. The number and shape of bends is used to complete the name of the coil bender, which may perform single bends (CB-L), double bends (CB-U), multiple bends (CB-M) or continuous bends (CB-O). Coils up to 1500 x 3000 mm may be bent and, according to the bending radium, up to 4 superposed coils by 1 row. It is possible to bend several finned coils placed one near the other, always within the limited size of the machine.A numeric control manages the operation of the machine in all its NC functions, simplifying its use.
Functional description
The bending shaft is horizontal and is supported from one side support. The bending torque is transmitted to the coil acting on the fins by means of a rotating support plate connected with the rotating head and rotating on the same axis. The tube sheet(s) are clamped opposite to bending side and all the coil moves according to the requested position of the bend (NC controlled). The opposite tube sheet is free and can move supported by a slide. The bending radius of all the bends will be the same.
The maximum number of rows possible to bend in the same cycle depends on:
- Minimum bending diameter (Min/Max allowed 4.7/11in (120/280mm)
- Fins per inch
- Minimum distance between the tube sheet (bending side) and bending start (straight part of the coil, bending side)
- Fin lay out (geometry, fin surface)
- Fin and tube material (Alloy and hardness)

Safety
In accordance to the CE rules we supply perimetric safety barriers with infrared rays in coils loading/unloading zone, with accessing door with safety micro-switch and rear gate for the maintenance. |
